Hyderabad: The Telangana State government on Saturday launched an online ticketing portal (https://tsboxoffice.in), a single window platform for all cinema halls and online ticketing websites to sell tickets.

“This portal provides total transparency on sale of tickets for both window and online sales. The portal will also ensure benefits to producers and exhibitors,” minister for cinematography Talasani Srinivas Yadav said at the Secretariat.

“Sales will be streamlined and this will increase tax collection for the government. It will provide accurate data on the sale of tickets and tax collection will be as per the provisions in new GST regime and clearly demarcate CGST and SGST”, he added.

The portal will offer flexible ticket pricing (with an upper cap) and additional shows (on demand). The TSFDC portal/ gateway will be open for all.

Also, apart from theatres and multiplexes, any number of online ticketing websites can also operate from this portal. The API Module will be shared to all online ticketing websites, free of cost. Any theatre owner can also host their online ticketing website, offering tickets at no extra service charges.

API can also be shared with cinema halls/ multiplexes, who want to develop and integrate their own front-end visibility.  Separate logins will be given to the government/ FDC/ producers/ distributors. TSFDC has already consulted 400-plus theatres/ multiplexes across the state and these have expressed their willingness to join the portal.
