Brace for two days of deluge

He said that the rains will continue for another two days as a system had developed in the North West of Bay of Bengal.

Bengaluru: Rains are set to continue for another two days in the city, weathermen from Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) has predicted.

From the past three days, the city has been receiving good rainfall. Since the onset of August, the monsoon has been active in the city, said Mr S S M Gavaskar, a scientist at KSNDMC.

He said that the rains will continue for another two days as a system had developed in the North West of Bay of Bengal.

The deep depression is not bringing rains to city but to the state and entire South India, he said and added that once the depression moves towards Rajasthan, the sunny weather will be back in the city.

The monsoon is rigorous in the state. This year, Bengaluru has received deficit rainfall during  the monsoon when compared to the previous seasons.

 But, he said the city has got good rainfall in August.On Wednesday, parts of North Bengaluru and nearby areas recorded good rainfall, Mr Gavaskar added.
