Poll fever: Amit Shah to meet BJP netas in Bengaluru from August 12

Meetings with MLAs and MPs and eminent personalities from various walks of life will follow.

Bengaluru: BJP president Amit Shah, who is expected to visit Bengaluru for  three days from August 12 as part of his 110-day tour of the country, is scheduled to meet members of the party’s political affairs committee  to prepare for the coming elections to the Karnataka Assembly as part of his itinerary. 

Mr Shah, who is focusing more on non-BJP ruled states during his tour,  will participate in a series of programmes with party leaders from the taluk level upwards, including the  MLAs and MPs and also meet Adichunchanagiri pontiff,  Nirmalanandanatha swami and Sri Sri Ravishankar of the Art of Living foundation. 

Detailing his schedule,  BJP spokesman Suresh Kumar told reporters here on Monday that Mr Shah had continued to interact with party workers and leaders since assuming charge and guiding them on how to strengthen the party.  On arrival at the Kempegowda International Airport he will be a given rousing reception at the toll plaza on the Bengaluru-Ballari national highway, and then leave for the party office, where he is expected to inaugurate a library and also address the party’s state office bearers, divisional organising secretaries, in-charge, district. presidents and general secretaries, presidents and general secretaries of various morchas and conveners of different cells. 

Meetings with MLAs and MPs and eminent personalities from various walks of life will follow. The last day will see him address party vistaraks  and interact with defeated candidates of the 11  Lok Sabha constituencies, which the BJP failed to win in the 2014 elections.
