Bengaluru: With his staunch followers and MLAs resigning resulting in the present political crisis, Congress leader Siddaramaiah on Sunday tried his best to clear his name in the entire episode saying, “everyone must be loyal to the party and not to me.” Speaking to reporters after attending a felicitation programme of a senior journalist here, Mr Siddaramaiah said, “It is not the question of being loyal to me, it is a question of being loyal to the party. There is a huge difference and those who  have resigned will realise this sooner or later.”

According to him, the BJP is behind all the resignations. “It is Operation Lotus but everything is fine. The coalition government will survive, there is no threat to the government,” he declared in response to a question. He added that he was in touch with at least five to six MLAs. “I can't reveal all the details now,” he said cryptically before leaving the venue in a huff.
