Pranahitha river swells after heavy rain

Mancherial: The river Pranahitha is swollen with flood water following heavy rain in upstream Maharashtra. The flood water inundated agriculture fields and houses in low-lying areas in Kotapalli mandal.

Heavy rains also affected coal mining operations in Mancherial district. Officials said coal production of 18,000 tonnes was affected. The approach to a temporary bridge at Indhanpalli was breached, bringing traffic to a halt  between Mancherial and Adilabad districts. Vehicles were taking the longer Pandavpur-Kadam route to reach Utnoor and Adilabad.
