Bengaluru: Elaborate security for IPL matches

Surveillance cameras are installed extensively both inside and outside the stadium.

Bengaluru: The city police have made elaborate security arrangements for Indian Premier League T-20 cricket matches that will be held at the Chinnaswamy Stadium from Saturday to May 19.

“Elaborate security and traffic arrangements have been made. More than 1,100 policemen, Reserve Police Force, D-SWAT Teams and Bomb Detection and Disposal Squads have been deployed. Surveillance cameras are installed extensively both inside and outside the stadium,” a police official said.

The police advised public to use special services of BMTC and Metro, while parking arrangements for public vehicles are made at St. Mark's Cathedral Church and St. Joseph's Indian High School.

The police have banned cigarettes, matchboxes, crackers/fireworks, any inflammable items and explosive substances. arms/weapons, knives, swords, razors and any sharp items, laptops, video/still cameras, pamphlets, black flags, food, beverages, water bottles/cans, paints, alcohol, bags, backpacks and helmets.
