CISF to raise special tactics wing

New Delhi: Over a dozen vital installations, including an Isro station in Port Blair and 10 airports, will soon be brought under armed CISF security cover.

The force, tasked with securing civil airports and critical installations in the aerospace and nuclear domain, is also raising a Special Tactics Wing to impart enhanced combat training to its commandos.

Officials said the Centre has cleared proposals to deploy armed CISF personnel and commandos at the Isro Telemetry Tracking and Command Network at Port Blair and other places.
