KOCHI: Governor P. Sathasivam on Thursday said women in Kerala are scared of approaching courts for legal remedies notwithstanding their high literacy rate.
Inaugurating the valedictory function of the centenary celebrations of Ernakulam Women's Association here on Thursday, Justice Sathasivam, who is a former chief justice of India, urged women to get rid of their apprehensions about taking legal steps for justice.

Though gender equality has been discussed for long, we should go more to realise. Gender equality should start in family.” The Governor appreciated activist Daya bai, who was on the dais, for the fight she initiated for victims of endosulfan.
