Hyderabad: The procedure of issuing approvals under the Land Regularisation Scheme in the IT corridor is being delayed by the lack of staff and other administrative matters. As per the schedule released by officials, the process should have been completed by October 31. In the GHMC west zone, less than 3 per cent of approvals were issued.

About 16,490 applicants sought regularisation of land. Mr M.K.Rafi, an applicant from Gachibowli, said work was being done slowly. “I have been visiting the GHMC’s circle office for three months. Sometimes the officials are not available and at other times they were busy with other work,,” he said.

GHMC circle officials said the scheme was being looked after by zonal commissioners and the city planning section. The city planning staff said it was busy with nala surveys and rescue operations during the rain in September. “We will clear all the applications. Applicants need not come to the office. If their application is approved, they will get an SMS,” an officer said.
