Pollution in Guntur is less: UNIDO

He said UNIDO started its initiatives in five cities in India, Jaipur, Bhopal, Mysore, Vijayawada and Guntur.

Guntur: A team of United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) visited Guntur city and interacted with the civic body officials about green house gas accounting and capacity building.

UNIDO associate director Joseph Prakash said that their organisation was working in various countries towards identifying pollution and ways to reduce it for the health of the public.

He said UNIDO started its initiatives in five cities in India,  Jaipur, Bhopal, Mysore, Vijayawada and Guntur.

The programme would be held in these cities for five years under which they would collect information about pollution and suggest measures to check it.
GMC commissioner Ch. Anuradha said UNIDO found less pollution in Guntur city compared to rest of the four cities.
