Rajasthan fries, mercury crosses 48 degrees in Churu

Jaipur: Rajasthan continued to reel under scorching heat wave conditions with Churu recording the highest temperature in the state at 48.5 degrees Celsius on Monday.

Churu was followed by Sri Ganganagar which sizzled at 47.7 degrees Celsius, the MeT Department said.

Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Barmer, Jodhpur and Ajmer recorded maximum temperatures of 47.3, 47, 46.2, 46, 45.6 degrees Celsius respectively.

Jaipur also braved a hot day at 44.9 degrees Celsius, it said.

Mercury in Pilani and Dabok settled at 44.1 and 43.8 degrees Celsius respectively.

According to a MeT forecast, the heat wave conditions would prevail in the state for the next 24 hours.
