Ramanathapuram: Neet aspirant collapses on way home, dies

As the bus approached Thirubuvanam, the poor girl suddenly fainted and collapsed.

Ramanathapuram: A 17-year-old girl student and medical college aspirant, Sandhya, who sat for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (Neet) at a centre in Madurai on Sunday, suddenly collapsed and died on her way home.This tragic happening came to light on Monday. Sandhya, daughter of Muniyasamy, of Papanam village near Kamudi in Ramanathapuram district had been assigned a private school in Madurai to take the Neet-2019 exam.

After writing the examination, Sandhya took a bus back home. As the bus approached Thirubuvanam, the poor girl suddenly fainted and collapsed. Sensing her health condition was turning for the worse, Sandhya was rushed to the government hospital at Sivaganga where first aid was given and then taken to the Madurai GH for treatment.

However, Sandhya failed to respond to treatment there and passed away. The girl’s death has come as a big shock to her family in their village of Papanam, as a pall of gloom descended on it.
