Kurnool: Teachers not too happy with state government

Kurnool: Poll campaigning enters a decisive phase with main political parties like TD and YSRCP going all out to woo voters. The weekend being long and offices closed, the stakeholders contacted groups of voters enlisting their support by wrapping party Kanduvas.
On Saturday, several contesting candidates arranged Ugadi celebrations. Ugadi Pachadi, an admixture of sweet, sour and combinations of both in a liquid form was served at the offices of contesting candidates in plastic glasses to visitors. Panyam candidate Gouru Charitha, Kurnool MP candidate Kotla Surya Prakash Reddy and his wife Alur contestant Sujatha, Silpa Ravi Chandra Kishore Reddy at Nandyal,Buggana Rajender Reddy at Dhone all held Panchanga Shravanam in the forenoon and hit the poll campaign in the afternoon.
With just a few days left for election, Rama Linga Reddy, a school teacher at Adoni, said teachers in government schools were planning to vote against the government. He added that shool teaching staff were put to severe hardship because of the biometric attendance system. The District Education Officer was partisan towards a community and made their life miserable, he said.
Mary Vijaya Kumari, another teacher, said that teachers were afraid of stringent implementation of attendance rules and scared that if Naidu is voted back, he would impose more rigorous rules. Therefore we don't want to vote him, she said.
On Saturday, Dhone YSRC candidate Buggana Rajendra Reddy campaigned at Betamcherla and said voters wait for a few days, the Rajanna Rajyam would come in the state.
Both TD and YSRC contestants were unsure how the voters would vote on the polling day. TD was banking on the doles it extended and Pasupu Kumkuma, farm support schems of the party.
Timma Reddy, a farmer in Nandyal, said they were happy with what AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had done for the farmers transferring money into their accounts.
Meanwhile, YSRC was largely depending on the Jagan wave and were not showing interest in taking along the other party leaders to ensure their victories. Kurnool MP candidate Dr Sanjeev Kumar was said to be not carrying on with the local leaders, said a leader. He said " Sanjeev thinks he could win without campaigning".
