Vijayawada: All India Youth Federation (AIYF) state general secretary Lenin Babu demanded the release of notification to recruit lecturer posts in the government junior and degree colleges besides increasing Group-1 and Group-2 posts in the state. Also, he urged the government to enhance the upper age limit to 44 years for government jobs and fill 50,000 teacher posts through DSC. He announced that the AIYF would stage a dharna in Vijayawada on January 8 seeking fulfilment of their demands.

On Sunday, Lenin Babu said that the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has issued a notification to recruit 47 junior, 240 degree college lecturer posts and another 88 Group-1 posts, however, several posts have been lying vacant in the state, so the state government should issue re-notification for all these posts.

He further said that as many as 50,000 teachers’ posts were lying vacant across the state, while DSC notification was not released after the 2018 DSC. Due to that, the aspirants’ age exceeded the upper age limit, he said. So, the state government should increase the upper age limit from 42 years to 44 years, he demanded.
