Hyderabad: Eatery firm fined for lapses

Based on a complaint by locals from Sidhi Vinayak Nagar, the medical and health teams raided the sweet and savouries company.

Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) on Friday slapped Rs 10,000 fine on a sweet and savouries company in Suraram.

Assistant Medical and Health Officer K.V.S. Prasad said that based on a complaint by locals from Sidhi Vinayak Nagar, the medical and health teams raided the sweet and savouries company.

“The company does not have any valid license or permissions but is using firewood stoves for cooking and making sweets and releasing heavy smoke causing air pollution. We have imposed Rs 10,000 fine to the owner of the company and issued a warning,” he said. The authories warned the owner  of the firm.
