Hyderabad: Vemula Prashant Reddy, Mission Bhagiratha vice-chairman, is confident that the expenses for the scheme will be easily met.

He said that the revenue earned from supplying water to urban local bodies and industries will be sufficient to meet the operational costs of the project.

Mr Prashant Reddy said that at present, the government does not collect water charges in rural areas. “Once the project is completed, water charges will be collected from urban local bodies, industries, and also rural areas,” he said.

While the water tariff was yet to be finalised, Mr Prashant Reddy said that there will be no problem in repaying the loans to the financial institutions.
