Nellore: The members of Andhra Pradesh Government Doctors Association working in the Government General Hospital, which is attached to the government medical college, resorted to a protest against the suspension of an assistant professor Dr Kalesha in front of the hospital on Saturday. Medical and Health Department placed him under suspension based on an inquiry report over death of a patient allegedly because of the delay on the part of assistant professor in attending to the patient last month.

Taking serious objection to this action APGDA members staged a demonstration demanding reinstatement of the assistant professor. They said they will boycott the duties if the authorities ignore their demand. The association maintained that Dr Kalesha was on call duty and it is wrong to blame him since he was in touch with the duty surgeon and guiding him on the treatment.
