Guntur: The parents of pharmacy student Ayesha Meera have demanded a CBI inquiry into their daughter's murder. Speaking to the media at Tenali, Syed Iqbal Basha and Shamshad Begum said they had no trust in the police re-investigation.

They feared that the newly constituted Special Investigation Team (SIT) would not conduct a proper inquiry. If the government was unwilling to order a CBI inquiry, then the SIT probe should be monitored by the High Court, they demanded.

Ayeesha’s parents alleged that family members of the late Koneru Ranga Rao had murdered their daughter and destroyed evidence with the help of government officials.
