Four more Keralites succumb to coronavirus abroad

Kochi: Even when the number of deaths due to coronavirus in the state is only two, the number of Keralites who die of Covid-19 in foreign countries is on the rise.

Four more persons from Kerala have died in the US taking the death toll of Keralites in the country to nine.

The deceased have been identified as Oommen Kurien, native of Kottarakkara, Eliayamma John from Piravom, Joseph Thomas and Shilpa Nair.

On Sunday, three Keralites, two in the US and one in Ireland, succumbed to the virus. Beena George, a nurse from Kottayam died in Ireland, after being infected with the deadly virus.

Safwan, a native of Malappuram district, who was working as a driver in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia died due to virus infection late Saturday.

He had symptoms like high fever and was undergoing treatment in Saudi German Hospital, Riyadh. His wife, who reached Riyadh recently, is admitted in a hospital isolation ward.

Deaths of Keralites due to Covid 19 have been reported from countries like UAE, US, UK and other parts of India like Maharashtra and Delhi.
