Medchal police seize cash worth Rs 3.5 lakh

The two individuals were identified as Mohammed Nizamuddin and Azmatullah Khan, both residents of Jagityal.

Hyderabad: The Medchal police of Cyberabad seized Rs 3.5 lakh in unaccounted cash from two persons who were traveling from Jagityal to Hyderabad in an RTC bus. The police seized the cash and handed it over to the static surveillance team for further action.

Around 11.30 am on Friday when the Medchal police and the static surveillance teams were conducting vehicle checks at a border check-post set up near Yellampet village, the sleuths found two persons, traveling in an RTC bus (TS 01 Z 0117) which was moving towards Hyderabad, carrying Rs 3.5 lakhs in denominations of Rs 500 and Rs 2,000, for which the individuals failed to produce validating documents.

The two individuals were identified as Mohammed Nizamuddin and Azmatullah Khan, both residents of Jagityal.

“The duo, who claim to be in the fabrication business, said that they were carrying the cash to purchase tools for work. However, they failed to produce documents for the same. The seized cash has been handed over to the static surveillance team,” the Medchal inspector M. Gangadhar said.
