Under NMC, medical edu will be costly, says Forum
It will make the managements of private medical colleges more powerful, Mr Khan said.
Hyderabad: National Action Forum (NAF) against National Medical Commission (NMC) on Wednesday announced that it will launch nationwide agitation against NMC which has led to bureaucratic-centralisation of medical education and health sectors in the country.
They will observe a nationwide NMC Day against the NMC Act on Thursday. NAF president Dr Sattar Khan, addressing a press conference here on Wednesday said that the NMC Act was anti-people.
It will make the managements of private medical colleges more powerful and pave the way for them to loot the people fixing abnormal fee structures in the futures, Mr Khan said.
Explaining about the National Exit Test, which will be introduced soon, he pointed out that the test will create an unhealthy atmosphere in medical education and the unskilled may get licence to practice as the Act will simplify the syllabus and degrade the standards of education.
Regretting that the criteria for establishing medical colleges were relaxed in the NMC Act, he appealed to the people to protest against NMC Act and demand its withdrawal.
