Visakhapatnam: Eastern Naval Command (ENC) celebrated the Navy Day on Monday. On this historic day in 1971, Missile Boats of the Indian Navy delivered a lethal and powerful missiles attack on Karachi harbour, paving way for a great victory for India. On this occasion, all the personnel of the ENC rededicate themselves to the service of the country to protect the vast maritime boundaries and the national assets off the Eastern Seaboard.

ENC paid homage to the service personnel who made the supreme sacrifice in action including the 1971 war. A floral wreath was placed by Vice-Admiral Karambir Singh, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, ENC, at the Navy War Memorial on Beach Road in Vizag city. They were joined by 50 NCC cadets who also paid their respects to the martyrs. A 50-men Guard of Honour was paraded on the occasion.
