Maha rasta roko at Utnoor for podu lands

Adilabad: Opposition parties, including Left, Telangana Jana Samiti and Congress, apart from their frontal organisations, participated in the Maha Rasta Roko in Utnoor town demanding that the state government issue pattas for podu lands being cultivated since a long time by tribals and poor non-tribals.

Telangana Jana Samiti (TJS) president Prof. Kodandaram, in-charge DCC president Sajid Khan, CPM leaders Lanka Raghavulu and Badi Dattatri and others participated in the rasta roko.

Addressing a gathering on the occasion, Prof. Kodandaram said for the first-time, all opposition parties have come together to mount pressure on the state government over podu lands. He maintained that the state government will no longer be able to hoodwink podu cultivators with false promises.

Rythu Sangham leader Nadi Ramaiah, AIDWA leader Khan Mayuri, Congress leader Bharath Chowhan, Vedma Bojju and others also participated in the dharna at Utnoor.

Meanwhile, Mancherial DCC president K. Surekha, ZPTC Charulatha and Purka Bapurao and others participated in the rasta roko at Jannaram. Similar rasta rokos were also staged in Kagaznagar, Asifabad and Kadam, seeking podu lands for farmers.
