Telangana tops Central education scheme implementation

The state introduced many reforms like introduction of CBCS and DOST(Online Admissions at UG level).

Telangana State Council for Higher Education will look at options to establish mechanism similar to the one run by the Kerala education department for giving accreditation to degree and PG colleges.

Hyderabad: TS has topped the Government of India initiative, Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) which is a collaboration of the Centre and state governments that aims at equity and excellence in higher education institutions.  

Telangana is the first state to have utilised 85 per cent of the funds allotted. The MHRD had allotted Rs 170 crore to the TS higher education department. Of this, Rs 39.82 crore was released as the first instalment of Central share that was used to create facilities in 40 government degree colleges and the Osmania University.
