Malappuram: Centre-funded coaching for minorities

Malappuram: In an effort to attract young graduates from minority communities to government services, the Union Ministry of Minority Affairs has launched a special coaching programme with a monthly stipend in Malappuram.  The four-month coaching for the Combined Graduate Level- Group B examination will begin at Madin Polytechnic College on May 21.

The 50 candidates who will attend the coaching classes will get a monthly stipend of Rs 2,500 provided by the ministry throughout the course period.  A student will get maximum Rs 10,000 as stipend for the course. Graduates below 30 years from minority communities including Sikhs and Budhists can apply for the course. The applicants’ annual family income should be less than Rs 6 lakh.

Madin polytechnic College is the centre in Malappuram for the coaching programme selected by the ministry. The college will run the programme till 2020 as per the MoU signed with the ministry. There will be only one batch for the four-month long programme each year.
