Students try to obstruct KT Rama Rao's convoy

The student leaders said they wanted to convey to the minister the problems students across the state were facing and present their demands.

WARANGAL: Members of several student organisations in Mahbubabad tried to obstruct the convoy of IT and MA&UD minister K.T. Rama Rao during his visit to the area on Wednesday. The incident took place when KTR was moving to the public meeting venue from the helipad. Police foiled the plan of the students and stopped them, leading to a tussle. This gave time to the convoy to speed away.

The students were arrested. Among them were SFI state committee member M.D. Razz-ak, activists P. Madhu and G. Aruna, DYFI district secretary Ravula Raju, DSU district president Manda Shashi Kumar and PDSU activist Swarna Latha.

The student leaders sa-id they wanted to convey to the minister the problems students across the state were facing and present their demands to him.

“The private universities Bill must be withdrawan. The tribal university must be set up in Mahbubabad. A permanent building must be constructed for the Government PG College. An integrated ITDA must be set up here and engineering and polytechnic colleges must be provided for the local youth,” they said.
