Rajahmundry: Driver burnt alive in road accident

The tipper driver got stuck in the cabin of the vehicle due to the accident and could not escape.

Rajahmundry: The driver of a tipper truck was burnt to death after his vehicle rammed a lorry coming from the opposite direction on the state highway at Dubacharla village of Nallajarla mandal in West Godavari in the wee hours of Monday.

According to Nallajarla police, the tipper driver, identified as Savarapu Harish, 25, rammed his vehicle into the lorry at high speed. Under the impact of the high speed, the fuel tank of the lorry smashed and burst into flames.

The tipper driver got stuck in the cabin of the vehicle  due to the accident and could not escape. The lorry driver however, managed to jump to safety even as the lorry also burnt.

Police booked a case and investigation is on.
