Thiruvananthapuram: Kollam District Rifle Association secretary has submitted a complaint to the DPI alleging that more than 10 shooters have used fake certificate of the ninth South Zone Shooting Championship for  grace marks. The allegation is that they uploaded the fake certificates to the website of education department for grace marks through school authorities.

Saju S.Das, in his petition pointed out that the email of secretary, Kerala State Rifle Association, dated February 2, had clearly stated that the certificates of the ninth South Zone Shooting Championship held at Chennai is ready for distribution with the list of the certificates attached along with it. Shooters are to collect the certificates directly after producing the original NRAI Shooter ID or any other reliable ID Card. The district secretaries of the shooters shall collect the certificates with proper authorisation from February 5 onwards, meaning the certificates were to be distributed only after February 5.

However shooters from Kollam association had uploaded their certificates a couple of days before. These certificates do not have the name or emblem of National Rifle Associa-tion of India, nor do they have any serial number. The signature of secretary general of National Rifle Association of India is also not there.

Though the South Zone championship was organised by National Rifle Association of India, the certificates uploaded have mentioned the name of Chennai Rifle Club under the aegis of Tamilnadu shooting Association instead.

Along with the complaint, an email of secretary of Kerala State Rifle Association, the list of the certificates to be issued and the  Circular of ninth South Zone Shooting Championship issued by NRAI were also submitted.
