Hyderabad: Girl, pals lose Rs 13 lakh, lodge complaint

The police said that a case has been registered based on the complaint from Sneha for further probe.

Hyderabad: A female postgraduate student at Osmania University has lodged a complaint with the KPHB police alleging that three persons, who claimed to be employees of QNet cheated her by promise huge returns. 

Believing the accused, the complainant made four others also invest in the QNet business, that led them to lose about Rs 13.6 lakh. 

According to the KPHB police, Sneha, 21, MSC student at Osmania University from Janagam district had lodged a complaint alleging fraud by three people who reportedly worked for QNet online business at Brundavan Colony. 

Sneha in her complaint to the police stated that during February 2018, she met one Navvya Bandi, who works for QNet.

Believing the latter’s words that she would get huge returns in a short period, Sneha invested about '1 lakh. 

Some days later, Navvya asked Sneha to invite her friends to get more benefits in the form of incentives, and accordingly, she convinced and introduced five more people.

She said that other victims — Harinadh invested '10 lakh, Vaishnavi '1.2 lakh, Archana '40,000, Ajay invested '1.8 lakh and Sai invested '1 lakh. 

But, they were all cheated by Navvya, her sister Divya, and their team leader Mettu Bharath. 

“After taking the money, the accused trio stopped responding to their calls and blocked their phone numbers,” said the police quoting the complainant. 

The police said that a case has been registered based on the complaint from Sneha for further probe.
