Kerala: Two year incubation plan for startups

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) will soon launch  a two-year incubation programme for startups incorporating various support schemes of the government.

According to a statement from KSUM, the highlights are curated industry participation and mentoring, national and international exposure programmes, access to government grants and funding and investor networking opportunities.

The KSUM is in advanced talks with a few global incubators and accelerators to run this programme in Thiruvananthapuram.

Similar programmes will be launched in partnership with reputed startup ecosystem enablers in Kochi and Kozhikode also.

KSUM manager Ashok Panjikaran said that startups were expected to graduate in 9-12 months. But startups that have longer development and sales cycles can continue in the programme for up to two years.

The startups should apply through the KSUM website by December 10.The programmes is scheduled to begin from January. There would be a selection process.

Performance will be evaluated every three months,  based on which the startups will be provided idea, product and growth acceleration. The startups can  work from KSUM’s co-working spaces, in Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Kozhikode.
