Kurnool: Senior Telugu Desam leader K.E. Krishna Murthy has vehemently denied any association with Mahalakshmi Digital Cable and Communicati-ons, which the police raided on Saturday and seized seven hard disks and CPUs. A case was filed in Two Town police station on charges of software piracy (FIR No. 296/2019).

He said “I have nothing to do with that cable TV company. It is owned by Korrapati Satyanarayana, a relative of mine.”

Kurnool had witnessed a major cable war a decade back with prominent political leaders like TG family and KE family offering cable connection and services at a mere Rs five per month.

“After fighting for some time, they merged into one Sri Sai Communications. Those coming together included Satya from KE family, D. Venkateswar Reddy from the S.V. Mohan Reddy faction, and T.G. Venkatesh’s family members,” said a veteran cable TV operator here.

Sri Sai Communications was run from the SV Complex from 1999 and was headed by Venkateswar Reddy. In 2014 when Mr Krishna Murthy became Deputy Chief Minster, Sai Communications changed hands and became Mahalakshmi Digital Cable and Communications and was headed by Korrapati Satyanarayana.

In the meanwhile, Seema Communications, floated by former MLA Gafoor, took a stranglehold on Sri Sai Communications.
