Hyderabad: The quality of maths and science education can be dramatically improved if the system focuses on fundamentals and concepts, said an expert.

Prof. G.V.K. Reddy, an education expert said, “Our assessment of math and science education is perhaps appropriate. The quality can be dramatically improved provided we focus on fundamentals and concepts. Our education system has become competitive, compromising quality teaching and learning.” He said teachers of math and science should be incentivised.

“We should move away from the corporate education system. We should encourage the students who are interested and not force everyone to do these subjects. We need serious counselling of parents and students.”
