Accident case: Sana Iqbal's husband arrested

Sana died in the car crash at about 3.30 am on the outskirts of the city on October 25.

The Koramangala police have arrested two people, including a fake journalist, on charges of drug peddling and seized one kg of charas worth Rs 3 lakh from the accused.

Hyderabad: Abdul Nadeem, the husband of cross-country biker and social activist Sana Iqbal who recently died in a car crash, did not have a licence when he took his wife on a drive that resulted in her death. 

He was arrested on charges of death by negligence on Friday.

“Nadeem, who was driving the car, also suffered injuries,” said Neredmet inspector G.V. Ramana Goud. He said Nadeem had been char-ged under Section 304 (A) of the IPC. 

Sana died in the car crash at about 3.30 am on the outskirts of the city on October 25.

Sana Iqbal, 29, was travelling in a car along with Nadeem. They were headed towards home in Tolichowki when the vehicle rammed into a median on the Outer Ring Road. 

Sana was known for her campaign against depression and suicide. In 2015, she undertook a cross-country solo bike trip to spread awareness about depression.
