V Narayanasamy declares Rs 9.65 crore assets

Puducherry: Puducherry Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy, the Congress candidate for November 19 by-election from Nellithope constituency, has declared assets worth Rs 9.65 crore. His assets have increased by over Rs 3 crore in the past two years. As per the affidavit filed for 2014 assembly polls, Narayanasamy declared assets worth Rs 6.17 crore.

He has immovable property worth about Rs 5.62 crore and has earned a revenue of Rs 19,89,150 during 2015-16, cash in hand Rs 1 lakh, bank deposit Rs 8,19,238, election account Rs 15 lakh, LIC policy Rs 5,58,488 and car Rs 9,18,845. Assets in the name of his late wife N. Kalaiselvi include immovable property of Rs 3.55 crore, car worth Rs 4.25 lakh, 200 grams gold ornaments and cash Rs 5,72,400.

It was mentioned in the affidavit that the Chief Minister has a bank loan of Rs 27,66,228. The main rival of Narayanasamy and AIADMK candidate Om Sakthi Sekhar has assets over Rs 3.49 crore. Immovable assets of Mr Sekhar is Rs 2,53,70,725, and of his wife Rs 81,28,239.  He has a liability of Rs 28,82,275 and his wife Rs 6,16,317 as per the affidavit filed.
