Security beefed up in view of bandh call by Maoists in five states

Nellore: Security has been enhanced at all the vital installations including Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Krishnapatnam Port and other industrial areas in view of bandh call given by Maoists in five states including AP, Telangana and Odisha on Thursday.

According to Nellore SP Vishal Gunni, quick response teams besides teams to check culverts on the major thoroughfares have been formed. Random checking of vehicles and lodges is in progress and additional forces were deployed at the state border and toll plazas.

The coast from Kavali to Tada is under the surveillance of marine police, Coast Guard and CISF personnel. Additional security has been provided to VIPs and ruling party leaders taking part in Jana Chaitanya Yatralu.

The SP appealed to the public to avoid renting their houses to new persons without verifying their bonafides and alert the police through mobile number 9390777727 in case if they spot any one moving suspiciously in their localities.
