Telangana Student Burnt Alive in Road Accident in US

The incident occurred when Shylesh was travelling in a vehicle hit by another car coming from the other side.

HYDERABAD: Gurrapu Shylesh, a 25-year-old student from Nizamabad, died in a road accident on Saturday in the United States where he had gone to study. A car hit Shylesh’s vehicle which caught fire at Shelton intersection in New Jersey.

Shylesh was a native of Bada Bheemgal in Bheemgal mandal and had gone to the US in September last to pursue his biomedical engineering at the University of Bristol in New Jersey.

His friends informed Shylesh’s family about the accident. Shylesh’s father Gurrapu Sathyam is a Gulf returnee and stays in Nizamabad along with his wife and two daughters.

Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, TRS NRI Cell global coordinator Mahesh Bigala said that they were trying to send Shylesh’s body home. The Indian consulate in New York, Telugu Association of North America (TANA) representatives Laxmi Devi, Chitti Babu and the Telangana NRI department were coordinating in the effort, he said. There would be clarity on the matter on Monday, Bigala said.
