Hyderabad: Ongoing works for Metro Rail station near Rasoolpura junction on Sardar Patel road is causing traffic jams even on the Prender Ghast (PG road) and internal roads of Sindhi Colony.

With bumper to bumper traffic on SP road due to barricading of carriage way for Metro rail work, motorists are taking to PG and Sindhi Colony roads choking the semi residential-cum-commercial localities with vehicular traffic.

Over a lakh vehicles pass through SP road to go towards Punjagutta and Ameerpet from Secunderabad every day. The traffic is high towards Punjagutta side in the morning with IT sector employees and others going towards Punja-gutta, Ameerpet. In the evening, it is heavy in the opposite direction towards Paradise.

Now, with carriage way narrowing down to less than 20-feet at Rasoolpura junction due to barricading, traffic is moving at snails pace. To avoid being stuck up in traffic jam on SP road, many a motorists are entering the PG and Sindhi Colony roads only to end up in traffic jam.

Women from Sindhi Colony complain that they are not able to go out for daily needs shopping. The roads and streets are filled with vehicles raising noise and air pollution. There is no place to cross the road.
