KCR's idea of non-BJP national front for Lok Sabha polls gaining traction

Hyderabad: The idea of BRS president and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao of forming a national non-BJP front for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections is gaining momentum across the country.

BRS MPs, who are in New Delhi, to attend the Budget session of Parliament, have been participating in all the programmes organised by the non-BJP parties in the national capital to demonstrate Opposition unity against the BJP. These MPs claimed that the CMs and leaders of the regional parties such as Mamata Banerjee, M.K. Stalin, Arvind Kejriwal, Tejashwi Yadav, Akhilesh Yadav and others were firmly pitching for the non-BJP Front proposed by Rao.

Further, they claimed that they were getting a positive response from the non-BJP parties in Parliament on the CM's idea of all non-BJP parties banding together to dethrone the BJP government at the Centre in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. The BRS leaders attended meetings of the non-BJP parties that the Congress and DMK recently convened in the national capital to show the Opposition's unity against the BJP.

"KCR has turned into a catalyst for non-BJP parties to fight against the Modi government's anti-people and anti-farmer policies. Earlier, the opposition parties used to be divided in waging a battle against the Modi government. After KCR blocked controversial farm Bills in the Rajya Sabha by uniting the non-BJP parties after they were passed in the Lok Sabha, leaders of all the non-BJP parties started looking up to KCR to take on Modi. The spark lit by KCR to unite the Opposition parties on the issue of farm Bills is now being taken forward by all the non-BJP parties on various issues concerning people and the nation," BRS Rajya Sabha member K.R. Suresh Reddy said.

Additionally, Suresh Reddy stated that Rao's proven record as CM in implementing welfare schemes and development programmes and transforming the drought-hit state into agriculture, irrigation as well as industrial hub was attracting leaders. “His prowess in English and Hindi languages is an added advantage for him in reaching out to national leaders as well as people of all regions,” Suresh Reddy stated.

BRS Lok Sabha member Venkatesh Netha said that after Rao had started questioning about the failures of the BJP government at the Centre in utilising the abundant resources with regard to irrigation, drinking water, power, coal, among others, it created awareness among political leaders as well as the common people.

"KCR has built a better alternative narrative for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls to take on the BJP. Most of the regional leaders are keeping in touch with KCR regularly to take this momentum forward. He is expected to undertake tours to various states this month and meet regional party leaders to strengthen the opposition unity," he said.
