Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court on Wednesday directed the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to produce the record of Ram Gopal Varma's Vhyooham movie before it on January 8, responding to a petition filed by the filmmakers challenging the stay order issued by the single judge on December 28 on the theatrical release of the movie.

In the Telugu Desam's petition seeking to quash the censor certificate issued to Vyooham movie, the single judge on December 28  issued interim orders suspending the validity CBFC certification for three weeks and directed the Censor Board to place the record  before it by January 11. Following the orders of the single judge, the theatrical release of the movie was stopped.

Challenging the single judge orders, the film producer filed an appeal before the division bench. The division bench headed by Chief Justice Alok Aradhe on Wednesday requested the single judge to hear the case on January 8 and decide the case on the same day itself based on the merits.
