HYDERABAD: The Telangana Civil Liberties Committee (TSCLC) strongly condemned the raids and arrests of civil liberties activists across the Telugu states and demanded that the “illegal attacks” be stopped immediately.

TSCLC state president Prof. Gaddam Laxman said, in a statement: We are ready to face any kind of injustice from the government. Instead of serving notices under CRPc Section 41-A, the government is using the NIA as a weapon.

He claimed 7,000 cases had been booked against civil liberties activists in the state but the conviction rate was only one per cent
