Over 100 students fall sick in Jyotiba Phule girls hostel

Some students and parents alleged that there was no proper ventilation in the hostel rooms, which added to their discomfort

Adilabad: More than 100 students fell sick with viral fever, headache and body and stomach pains in the last two days at the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule BC welfare residential school for girls in Nirmal town. The school has 420 students.

Parents take their children home. Viral fever is spreading among students in hostels because of bad weather conditions.

The hostel’s special officer, Nandakumar said that nearly 60 students who were suffering from ill-health were sent home. Six students are down with appendicitis.

Meanwhile, some students and parents alleged that there was no proper ventilation in the hostel rooms, which added to their discomfort.
