BENGALURU: Following reports of irregularities in towing away vehicles parked in no-parking zones and collection of fines by the Bengaluru traffic police, Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) ducted a parade of all towing vehicle operators and in-charge officers, and took them to task.

Recently, a Kannada news channel conducted a sting of Tiger towing vehicles, where it was shown the entire operation being carried out by some unknown men, while the traffic police officer and driver are seated inside the vehicle.

The unknown men are assigned to tow away vehicles and deal with vehicle owners for 'settlements'. The understanding between the police officers and the men was such that they were given access to POS machines which are used to collect fines from offenders.
