250 Stranded AP Passengers Return from Odisha

Vijayawada: SCR divisional manager Shivendra Mohan has announced that a command centre has been established at their divisional office in Vijayawada to provide real time information about passengers from AP who had been travelling by trains involved in the Odisha mishap.

Giving details of rescue operations, Shivendra Mohan said Special Train No. P/13671 Bhubaneswar–Dr. MGR Chennai Central Express has started with 22 coaches from Bhadrak towards Chennai, carrying about 250 passengers who got stranded in the train accident. He further said Southern Railway will also run a special train for families of affected people in the accident.

The SCR DM said in the train accident, 14 bogies of the Coromandel Express got derailed, while 10 (B2–B9, A1, A2) capsized. With regard to the other train, one GS coach got damaged and two bogies derailed and capsized.

As per an official release of South Eastern Railway, 238 persons have died and 650 injured in the trains’ mishap. Following are the telephone numbers for people to seek any further information:
