Jagan asks officials to help rain-hit farmers

Vijayawada: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has directed the official to extend all requisite help to farmers who suffered crop damage or loss due to the untimely rainfall in several districts in the state.

The CM reviewed the rainfall situation and its impact on the crops with the officials at his camp office here on Tuesday.

Jagan Mohan Reddy directed the civil supplies corporation officials to purchase drenched paddy from the farmers and said a complete enumeration on crop damage or loss must be done expeditiously and a report submitted to him.

Jagan Mohan Reddy asked officials to complete all necessary measures to release input subsidy to the rain-hit farmers along with financial assistance for them under the YSR Rythu Bharosa. He said the list of affected farmers must be displayed in the village secretariats for social audit.

Meanwhile, the authorities have informed the CM that they have come up with an estimation on crop damage or loss due to rainfall in March and said the enumeration was going on to assess the loss due to the recent rainfall.
