Vijayawada: Because every vote counts, TD supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu has appointed a special party committee to oversee the counting procedure and is preparing his party leaders ahead of the counting.

In addition to an overall state committee, Mr Naidu has planned to assign a separate counting committee for the TD in every Assembly constituency. The state level committee will be headed by the MLC Janardhan, while every Assembly constituency committee will consist of an advocate and an IT expert.

In a teleconference with TD leaders and cadres on Thursday, Mr Naidu said, “We have reached an important milestone in the election process and we prepare well for it. Every constituency should have its own committee comprising an advocate and an IT expert. Constituency-wise counting workshops need to be held. The people are with us.”

Mr Naidu added that party leaders should be aware of the strength of their respective parties as recorded in every booth and that the final result should be compared with the number of votes recorded. He said that he is confident of winning majority votes, including the seats that the TD is being expected to lose. He said that these polls should act as a case study for future generations and added that those who with the patience to continue counting till the last vote shall be appointed as the party’s polling agents.

He pointed out that it was a habit of the YSRC to commit crimes and put its blame on the TD. He recalled YSRC’s allegations against the TD for deleting around 57 lakh votes in Delhi when they themselves had deleted at least 7 lakh votes in AP using Form 7.
