Coronavirus count reaches 286 in Kerala

Kochi: Twenty one new cases of coronavirus infection have been reported from Kerala on Thursday, taking the total number to 286. As many as 256 patients are undergoing treatment in various hospitals.

 Two hundred among the total tally of Covid 19 patients are returnees from foreign countries while others are their close contacts.

Twenty eight persons have been recovered and two persons succumbed to the infection in the state so far. The two deaths are from Ernakulam and Thiruvananthapuram districts.

However, the virus infected senior citizen couple aged 93 and 88, who were considered the highest risk patients, have been recovered, which turned to be a major achievement of the state health authorities.

The number of people under isolation is 1,65,934 of whom 643 are in isolation wards of various hospitals.
