Karnataka government honours women entrepreneurs

Chief Minister Siddaramiah said for the first time in our country such a platform has been given to women.

Bengaluru: Ahead of international women’s day, the state government honoured women entrepreneurs in the state and organised ‘Women of Worth’ (WoW) to celebrate their achievements and recognize their struggles and successes.

In his inaugural address Chief Minister Siddaramaiah observed, “Only a full and willing participation by women, at home, in the community, industries and in the state, will take us forward into a free, just, and equal future.” The Chief Minister who also distributed special WoW awards to women from all walks of life, to recognize their contribution towards developing the state. He also laid the foundation stone for the establishment of a Women Entrepreneurs Park.

Chief Minister Siddaramiah said for the first time in our country such a platform has been given to women. “We constantly aim towards social justice for women and help those who are deprived of opportunities,” he said. Industries Minister R.V. Deshpande launched an exhibition and trade show that offered a platform for women entrepreneurs to showcase their products and services and to explore new opportunities.
