Hyderabad: Five killed in road mishap on NH-65

Five passengers lost their lives in an accident possibly caused by drunk driving on the NH-65, in Sangareddy district, on Friday.

Hyderabad: Five passengers lost their lives in an accident possibly caused by drunk driving on the NH-65, in Sangareddy district, on Friday. Their car rammed into a median, landed on the other side of the road and collided with an RTC bus travelling in the opposite direction. Both vehicles landed in a pit off the highway.

The conductor and five passengers in the bus sustained injuries. The deceased were identified as Mahesh, 28, Venkateswar Reddy, 28, Venkatram Reddy, 23, Nagaraju, 21, and Narender Chary, 30.

After crossing IIIT Hyderabad in Kandi village, Mahesh lost control of the vehicle. The car crashed into the road median and landed on the opposite side of the road. It then collided with an RTC bus travelling in the opposite direction, from Zaheerabad to Patancheru. Both vehicles landed in a pit off the road.

Mahesh, Venkateswar Reddy and Venkatram Reddy died on the spot. Nagaraju and Narender succumbed while they were being transported to the hospital.
