Hyderabad: Amangal hospital seized for helping minor girl abort
The hospital had reportedly performed the abortion on the minor who had become pregnant because of her affair with K. Shashi Kumar.
Hyderabad: Padma Nursing Home located at Amangal, where an illegal abortion was alllegedly performed for a minor girl, was temporarily seized by the officials of Ranga Reddy district medical and health department on Friday.
The hospital had reportedly performed the abortion on the minor who had become pregnant because of her affair with K. Shashi Kumar.
Police became aware of the only after the girl, now a major, was arrested along K. Shashi Kumar, for killing the her mother Rajitha.
The police had booked the girl’s another boyfriend Bal Reddy under the POCSO Act and for causing miscarriage to the minor.
Following the registration of a case by Hayathanagar police on the allegations that a minor girl who had become pregnant because of an affair, was taken to the private hospital at Amangal, the medical and health authorities on Friday, inspected the hospital and found irregularities.
According to sources, a team of officials of the Ranga Reddy medical and health department during the inspection found that the hospital did not have permission to carry out abortions. Padma Nursing Home at Amangal was temporarily seized to find out if the abortion was performed at the hospital.
Two patients who were admitted at the hospital were shifted to another hospital. Officials seized the records of Padma Hospitals for verification. The equipment at the hospital was already seized by the police, said the sources.
