Won't intervene in seat allotment: SC

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has granted permission for increasing the number of seats in various MD/MS courses in various medical colleges of the country.

Hyderabad: The Supreme Court has refused to intervene in an interim order passed by the Hyderabad High Court in which the HC had declared that the NTR Health University and Kaloji Narayana Rao Health University are free to allot open category seats in super speciality medical courses in their affiliated medical colleges in AP and Telangana through common counselling at the national level based on Neet rankings.

A two-member bench dismissed a special leave petition filed by Dr B. Bhavya of the city on Friday. Dr Bhavya is one of the aspirants for a super specialty seat. 

Appreciating that the High Court passed a reasonable interim order in view of the admission process already  in progress, the SC bench said that it cannot interfere.
